Steaming Up With Nature Wonders
This Learning Scenario is designed for 6-9-year-old learners with the goal of reigniting their bond with nature and fostering STEAM skills through nature-based solutions (NBS). With a focus on addressing the growing disconnection from the natural world among children, this project is tailored to spark curiosity, critical thinking, and environmental consciousness. Set within the scenic landscapes of Buila Vânturarița National Park (Romania), an area included in NATURA 2000 network, students embark on a journey of discovery. Guided by experts, they delve into the park's rich biodiversity through sensory exploration and inquiry-based approaches, including activities such as workshops, investigation on season changes, outdoor mindfulness walks, expert interviews, field trips, and awareness events. The implementation of the Learning Scenario requires two important stages: introduction to environmental concepts and NBS in general (stage 1) and direct exploration of local biodiversity and specific NBS (stage 2).

We will talk about biodiversity - “What is biodiversity?” - as well as introduce some of the basic scientific notions that underpin environmental science... (Source: European Commission, 2022)
