Green Roofed Cat House
Population growth, industrialisation, and changing consumption habits drive the rapid loss of green spaces and increased waste production, leading to pollution, ecosystem damage, reduced biodiversity, and health impacts. Urbanisation causes deforestation and reduces green areas, compromising vital ecological services. Sustainable solutions like effective waste management and green space protection are essential, with community cooperation being crucial. This Learning Scenario introduces a project of green roof system using compost from recycled school kitchen waste to reclaim green spaces. The "Green Roofed Cat House" project involved various stakeholders and included a composting and constructing a cat house with shingles and geocell materials. The project received a Design Registration certificate from the Turkish Patent Institute.
