Nature-based Climate Shelters in Schools: Empowering Teachers for Sustainable Education
This MOOC by the COOLSCHOOLS project with the support of Scientix, presents the concepts of Nature-based Climate Shelters in schools and Urban Nature-based solutions (NBS) through the prism of design thinking. Through Nature-based climate shelter interventions (CSIs), educators engage students in the design of a nature-based climate shelter in their own school to allow them to develop agency in improving their surroundings, 21st century skills and environmental awareness.

An interactive map linking nature-based solutions to climate change adaptation outcomes based on a systematic review of the peer-reviewed literature. It allows to (i) explore evidence on how effective different nature-based interventions are for addressing climate change impacts; (ii) Compare social, economic, and ecological effects of different nature-based interventions; (iii) Filter by region, country, ecosystem type, intervention type, or type of outcome; (iv) Generate maps, graphs and download data; (v) Directly link from science to national climate policy.
