NBS EduWORLD Living Labs Roadmap
This roadmap provides a comprehensive approach and structured path to embed environmental and social responsibility and active sustainability citizenship into school education through the integration of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). It guides schools in reimagining infrastructure, curricula, teaching and learning, and community practices, inspired by nature and leveraging its power to solve real-world challenges. It aims to support the long-term strategy of mainstreaming NBS in education alongside the creation of vibrant, future-ready learning environments where sustainability is not just taught but is lived and practiced daily. Based on evidence and inspiring stories of implementation, it outlines objectives and key actions, highlights basic steps and lessons learnt, discusses opportunities and challenges, and explores the impact of setting up schools as NBS Living Labs for sustainability.

NBS EduWORLD Policy Recommendations
This report presents key insights, lessons, and actionable policy recommendations for integrating Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) into education and training systems across the European Union. It builds on 3 years of research, experimentation, and stakeholder engagement under the NBS EduWORLD project, drawing from the experiences of 15 partners working across (NBS) educational levels and European contexts. The report addresses existing gaps in policy, practice, and institutional coordination. Structured around governance levels (EU, national, municipal/local) and cross-sectoral policy domains (e.g., health, business, tourism), the report outlines how NBS education can be mainstreamed through existing frameworks and adapted to local realities. A focus is placed on enabling conditions, such as funding, teacher support, policy alignment, and community partnerships, that can drive systemic change. The recommendations are intended for policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders working at the intersection of education, environment, urban planning, and social policy.

Piloting and Assessment of Stepping Stones and Education Journeys
This work builds on earlier efforts in architecture and the evaluation of Nature-based Solutions (NBS) in education to advance institutional leadership through capacity-building initiatives. A comprehensive set of innovative guidance materials are developed, which aim at embedding NBS thinking within strategic and operational practices across higher education and industry. Central to this effort is the co-creation and delivery of interactive workshops designed to establish baseline knowledge, stimulate peer learning, and facilitate knowledge exchange among partners and stakeholders. As a key output, the project involved the design, testing and implementation of 50 modular Learning Units, structured to support both formal accreditation and informal learning. These units cover foundational to advanced concepts and are mapped as 'stepping stones' within a sequential learning framework. The resulting output of this report offers a scalable, adaptable resource to embed NBS literacy into educational ecosystems and workforce development strategies along with exploring the stepping stones of education journeys involving NBS.
