Naturvation

NATure-based URban innoVATION is a 4-year project, funded by the European Commission and involving 14 institutions across Europe in the fields of urban development, geography, innovation studies and economics. It seeks to develop our understanding of what nature-based solutions can achieve in cities, examine how innovation can be fostered in this domain, and contribute to realising the potential of nature-based solutions for responding to urban sustainability challenges by working with communities and stakeholders.

NBSOIL

The Nature Based Solutions for Soil Management – NBSOIL – project is a four-year EU funded project coordinated by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation in Poland. It aims to create and test a learning pathway for existing and aspiring soil advisors – providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to develop a holistic and nature-based solutions approach to soil.

Science on Stage

Science on Stage is a Europe-wide network for STEM teachers with more than 30 member countries, that focuses on the exchange of best-practice teaching ideas. An important part of the network’s effort is to integrate the topic of sustainability into STEM teaching. For this purpose, they have, among other things, published the teaching material “Act Now for the UN Sustainable Development Goals”

SERE

SERE, created in 2013, is the European chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration, the global non-profit organisation for ecological restoration. It is a European-wide association, registred in Belgium, with 225 scientific and practitioner members across Europe, and globally, including restoration research centres, non-profit organizations and private companies. They operate as a ‘network of networks’ in collaboration with national restoration organisations across the EU, with the mission to foster the exchange of knowledge and expertise among ecological restoration practitioners and scientists from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, and to communicate leading-edge tools, technologies, science, and development opportunities.

Urbinat

URBiNAT (H2020, 2018 - 2024) focuses on the regeneration and integration of underserved social housing developments with an innovative and inclusive catalogue of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). The project consists of a consortium of academic and business partners in cities across Europe with Porto, Nantes and Sofia acting as ‘Frontrunners’ and Siena, Nova Gorica, Brussels and Høje-Taastrup as ‘Followers. Each city serves as a Living Lab for the implementation of Healthy Corridors consisting of interconnected Nature-Based Solutions that have been co-selected and co-created with citizens.
