Join the third and final edition of the NBS EduCommunity workshop: Shaping the future of sustainability learning

The final edition of the "NBS EduCommunity Workshop: Shaping the future of sustainability learning" will take place online on 18 February 2025, from 14:00 to 16:00 CET. This dynamic event will bring together the European NBS EduWORLD community in a public meeting focused on Non-Formal Education for Nature-based Solutions (NBS), community stewardship and youth engagement. 

Organised by the Horizon Europe project NBS EduWORLD in collaboration with the NetworkNature Cluster Task Force NBS Education, this workshop will conclude the series of NBS EduCommunity workshops, building on the lessons learned from previous events. This event promises to be an important opportunity to test and gather feedback on the Youth Inclusion Toolkit developed by NBS EduWORLD, contributing to the development of policy recommendations and guidelines for local authorities and EU policy makers. 

The workshop will focus on gathering feedback, testing the toolkit and discussing how non-formal education can empower youth and promote community ownership of NBS. Key objectives include assessing the current state of NBS education, promoting the uptake of NBS education guidelines, and fostering exchange and mutual learning between NBS practitioners, educators, local governments, NGOs and other stakeholders. The event will include a presentation of the Youth Inclusion Toolkit and "What if..." sessions, where participants will work in breakout groups to explore the integration of NBS education into youth and community initiatives. The workshop will conclude with a plenary debrief and discussion.

The outcomes of this workshop will feed into the development of the Youth Inclusion and Local Authorities Kit and the Policy Recommendations and Guidelines for EU Policymakers. The results will be presented at the NBS Education Summit in Spring 2025 (date to be announced), where further discussions will shape the future of NBS education in Europe. 
This public event is aimed at local government representatives as well as educators, NBS practitioners, NGOs, policy makers and other relevant stakeholders. Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas to help shape the future of NBS education.
